Some points that you mentioned:
- Yes, splitting forum-/wall-use certainly takes some discipline. I also don&#039;t like that forum-posts are quite hidden and seem to attract less attention than the wall-posts. Of course it doesn&#039;t help that I start 80% of them.
- are there applications that would be useful for groups? One that I could definitely see as useful, would be to add a feed of blog-posts. Generally anything that contributes to a group becoming an information-system would be interesting. And to that I would include a feed of daily reader-statistics, comments feed from the blog, shared bookmarks, etc. 
- what I&#039;m also missing from the group is a way to be notified of new wall-posts. It&#039;s not happening now and participants have to manually check for new information. That is a little annoying and I&#039;m sure prevents them from participating real-time.</description>
